Details

Specialized took a snippet from your dreams and made it into high-paced, XC-focused reality! The Epic Pro Carbon 29 World Cup rocks 95mm of Brain-controlled FSR rear suspension and a 100mm RockShox RS-1 fork for unprecedented climbing and confident descending. The state-of-the-art FACT 9M-carbon frame is not only light, it's also super stiff for lightning-fast accelerations and pinpoint handling. Plus, this XC-rocket is equipped with a stellar component package: a full SRAM X01 1x11 drivetrain for flawless, lightning-fast shifting, featherweight Roval Control carbon wheels, and a set of wonderfully grippy, tubeless-ready Fast Trak tires that keep you hooked up to the trail no matter how hard you rail the turns. And, don't forget about the powerful Shimano Deore XT disc brakes, ti-railed Phenom saddle, and vibration-muting carbon post, you know, all the spec that was floating around in your dreams.

Specialized FSR Rear Suspension

Specialized's FSR suspension offers plush travel, incredible control, unbeatable traction and an overall awesome ride because it's completely unaffected by pedaling and braking forces. This design also eliminates "bobbing" for optimum climbing and acceleration.

Specialized Brain

The Brain is the mastermind behind Specialized's ultra-efficient suspension designs. It automatically turns the suspension on and off almost instantaneously to provide the perfect ride. An inertia valve mounted inside a near-vertical cylinder near the rear axle controls the shock's ability to compress; the resulting system responds to terrain input (bumps and dips), but not to rider input (pedaling). All Brains also feature Brain Fade technology which allows you to control the breakaway threshold of the inertia valve. This turns your Brain from ultra rigid and efficient to super plush and active.

This frame utilizes Specialized’s advanced FACT IS (Integrated Structure) construction method. By separating the frame into four main parts — the front triangle, seat tube/bottom bracket, chainstays and seatstays — Specialized is able to optimize each carbon piece for its specific purpose and create a structure that’s incredibly light, impeccably stiff and impressively strong.
